Pets of the Week: May 20 | News

Help give an animal in the area a new outlook on life.

Each week the HDR will showcase local adoptable pets in the Pets of the Week feature.

If you would like to submit photos for adoptable pets in the area, send information and a photo to by Thursday each week.

Howard was rescued along with his mother and brother. He is more outgoing than his brother Leonard, so he is ready for his forever home. He loves to play and cuddle and would be OK with kids and dogs as long as they don’t scare him.

Breed: Domestic short hair, male

Adoption fee: $90 (All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated including rabies vaccine, de-wormed and tested negative for FeLV)

Semora is a bit independent but can be loving at times. She is still a puppy and needs an active family that will play with her in the yard or take her on adventures to calm her curiosity. She has a lot to learn about life.

Hope is house broken. She is very active and needs someone that will spend the time to give her life enrichment. She is very smart, therefore she is easily bored. A daily walk, playing fetch or puzzle toys would be great for this curious girl.

Jet was surrendered to Animal Control along with his three brothers. They arrived neutered, very affectionate toward each other and people, but a little intimidated about their new environment. They have adjusted quickly and hop down from their perches to greet everyone who comes to visit.

Jasmine loves being outside, going on walks, enjoying the sunshine, and of course, playing in the puppy pool. She is ready to be the center of attention since she’s been at the shelter more than half her life.
