Michigan has 3 of top 10 assistant coaches salaries

USA Today revealed the top college assistant coaches salaries on Wednesday, and Michigan made a splash; the Wolverines are paying 3 of the top 10 in the country, led by defensive coordinator Don Brown. Additionally, Michigan ranks as the program paying the most in the Big Ten.

Jim Harbaugh wants 16 teams in CFP field

With the Big Ten’s absence from the 2017 College Football Playoff, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh once again argued for an expansion of the playoffs; this is the first season since its creation in 2014 that the CFP committee selected two teams (Georgia and Alabama) from the same conference. Harbaugh advocated for a 16-team playoff.

Outback Bowl ranks No. 4 in top bowl games

Sports Illustrated’s Eric Single released his countdown on Wednesday of the 38 best bowl games outside the College Football Playoff. Single slotted the Outback Bowl, between Michigan and South Carolina on Jan. 1, at No. 4.
