Chelmsford‘s newest bar Legacy Lounge has finally opened its doors.
The venue’s grand opening weekend started with a bang yesterday (July 14) and is set to continue through to Sunday with a host of DJs from London and Essex.
There is free entry for everyone during the opening weekend, although in the future there will be a charge on the door.
300 lucky customers received vouchers for free prosecco and shots on the opening night but there will also be half price drinks for everyone until 12am right through the weekend.
Resident DJs will be playing a mixture of commercial, mainstream, hip hop R&B, reggae, house, old school and soulful house music until the early hours of each morning.
There will be guest DJ nights throughout the year including names like Colin Francis, Omar S and Miguel Campbell.
Legacy Lounge is at 1 Tindal Square and the new owners have spent tens of thousands of pounds renovating the three-floor venue.
“We have got guests coming from Essex, London and the surrounding counties for the opening weekend,” said owner Marley Morris.
“It should be a really good weekend. We’ve worked really hard to renovate the building and create something new for Chelmsford. We’re really excited about the future and what we hope to bring to the city centre.”
As well as the comprehensive drinks and cocktail menus, there will also be a small bar menu available offering paninis, club sandwiches and fish and chips on a Friday.
Marley is passionate about creating a community venue that can be used for all different people of all ages at various times throughout the day.
“We will be catering for university students, people who want to watch live bands, the LGBT community and there will be lots of club nights,” he said.
“People can also hire the venue, or part of it for all…
